relating to social justice concerns;
To participate in
Archdiocesan-
sponsored training events that educate participants on
Catholic Social teaching;
To increase
parish awareness of ongoing legislative and/or global
issues that impact matters of Justice and Peace;

Committee Vision Statement
Through the sacrament of baptism, we are joined to
Jesus Christ in His mission to the Kingdom here on earth. By virtue of
this sacrament, we are committed to live out our faith through works of
charity and service to the people of God, caring for the poor, the weak
and the suffering.
The Social Justice Committee of St. Jane Frances de
Chantal lives out this commitment through an active ministry of prayer
and service and an ongoing education program for the parish, to
participate in this important work. We are the eyes that see what is
wrong and make systemic changes in society to correct them. We are the
hands and feet that go about making the necessary changes so that every
human being lives in dignity.
We are the voice of challenge to the adults and young
people in the parish to support this work with their prayers their
resources, their time and their talents to do as Jesus demands: to feed
the hungry, clothe the poor and visit the sick and imprisoned.

Holy Eucharist and pray with and for those who are afflicted or in need of God's
intervention for physical or mental healing. This special ministry is always in need

Saint Vincent de
Paul Society
 Saint Vincent de Paul
Saint Jane Frances Parish participates in the Saint Vincent de
Paul Ministry. The Society, through the Parish, assists the poor by collecting
usable canned goods, groceries, baby products and personal items which are then
distributed as food baskets. The Ministry has need for canned goods and toiletries of all
kinds. However, those items needed most include any and all of the
following: dish detergent, baby cereal, sugar, condiments, hair conditioners, paper
towels, peanut butter, pancake mix, baby food, napkins, sauces, box cakes, ketchup,
cleaners, gravy, pudding, mustard, bars of soap, jelly, canned milk, sauces, baby juice,
flour, shampoo, tuna, salmon, canned fruit, canned meat, canned stew, canned tomatoes,
beets, cake icing, razor blades, scouring pads, cranberry sauce, Jell-O, sauerkraut,
cleaning agents, macaroni & cheese, tooth paste, hot chocolate, coffee, instant
potatoes, tea and pasta of all kinds. The Ministry can also use help to collect,
sort and store food--especially during the holiday periods.
In addition to providing food to the poor, the Parish also collects
usable clothing. A Saint Vincent de Paul clothing depository is
located on the Saint Jane School parking lot near the Parish Chapel. Clean, usable
clothing for adults or children should be placed in the depository in plastic bags.
The clothing is collected, sorted and distributed once each week. Some unusable
items are processed into rags; the money obtained from the sale of bulk rags is used
in the Ministry. Special collections of clothing are made periodically. These
collections are announced in the Parish Bulletin.
Finally, the Parish also solicits funds for the poor through the Church
"Poor Boxes" located at each of the exits from Saint Jane Frances.
These funds are used to assist families in desperate financial situations and in emergency
situations. We ask you to always remember the poor as you leave
Church on Sunday mornings.
