About Our Council at St. Jane Frances

The Monsignor Raymond P. Kelly Council of the Knights of Columbus is located within the State of Maryland in Anne Arundel County. The Council was instituted on October 12, 1992, the quincentennial of the landing of Christopher Columbus in the New World. The Council was organized by Former District Deputy Kenneth Sassaman under the leadership of Past Maryland State Deputy and Vice-Supreme Master Francis M. Feeley. Former District Deputy Robert Cleckner, Sr. was our Charter Grand Knight.

A majority of the members of Monsignor Raymond P. Kelly Council are parishioners of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church in Riviera Beach, Maryland, but many members also participate from surrounding towns and parishes. Established in 1946, St. Jane Frances Church is a thriving parish in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and the Council takes its name from its first pastor. Council officers and our Past Grand Knights are listed in the accompanying tables. The Council presently has approximately 145 members.

Meetings

Council Membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in St. Jane Frances Parish Hall at 8513 Saint Jane Drive in Pasadena, Maryland. The meeting is preceded by a social hour beginning at 6:30pm. All current Knights of Columbus are invited to attend; only current council members are allowed to vote on motions.

Council Officers’ Planning meetings are the fourth Wednesday of the month on Zoom (see the Council Officers page for instructions; password required).
