Middle School Youth Ministry

Upcoming Changes to Confirmation

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has begun the process of moving the age for the preparation and reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation to the age of nine. For those concerned with whether the younger candidates will “know” enough, we remind you that Confirmation is not a sacrament of knowledge, but rather one of initiation and participation which invites candidates and their families into an active and deeper relationship with Jesus and our Church. Confirmation is NOT a graduation from the faith and community, but rather the beginning of an
ever-growing understanding of our faith and more active participation in the life of our faith community.

Here at The Pastorate of the Visitation, we will make that age transition over the next few years. Confirmation preparation for the 2025-2026 Faith Formation year will be offered to both 8th and 9th graders, and anyone else in high school seeking Confirmation.

Parents of 8th graders for the 2025-2026 year should click here for more information about our Confirmation Process.

Faith Formation

Our middle school faith formation program is offered on Sunday mornings to current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. They learn about our Catholic traditions, what it means to have a relationship with God and the Church, and how to deepen those relationships… all in a fun and relaxed environment.
