Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for us!

Mary, Queen of the Knights

by Rev. Robert F. Hopkins

Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order.

Keep us true to the pledge, to extend the kingship of thy Divine Son on earth.

Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should characterize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court.

Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order appreciated.

Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy Servants, the Knights of Columbus. Amen.

Prayer for the Deceased and for the Sick

Almighty and Merciful Father, we humbly ask You to grant eternal peace to those Brothers of our Order and to those members of their families who have died.

We ask you to judge them with Your Divine mercy and love, to realize their good intentions and to note their noble aspirations.

Through Your mercy and kindness, we ask You to grant them eternal rest with You in Your Kingdom, and to let the Perpetual Light shine upon them.

We pray also, Almighty Father, for our Brothers and Sisters who are in poor health or in physical, mental or spiritual distress. They have labored in Your Vineyard in Your Name and for Your Holy Mother Church on earth. They only seek to return to Your vineyard to edify your Holy Name by acts of Christian Charity and Love.

If it be Your will, grant them a return to physical health and well-being, and allow them to return once again to Your vineyard to labor on Your behalf.

We ask these favors through Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed Michael J. McGivney, Pray for us!

Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael J. McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor.

Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church.

Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast.

We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will.

Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request).

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Daily Devotion to the Holy Spirit

This prayer to the Holy Spirit was given to St. John Paul II by his father as a child. St. John Paul II remained faithful to his father’s prayer until the last days of his life, praying it each day.

Holy Spirit, I ask of you the gift of wisdom for a better understanding of you and of your divine perfection.

I ask of you the gift of intellect for a better understanding of the essence of the mysteries of the Holy Faith.

Give me the gift of knowledge so that I may know how to orient my life in accordance with the principles of faith.

Give me the gift of counsel so that in all things I can seek counsel from you and can always find it in you.

Give me the gift of strength so that no fear or earthly motivations can take me away from you.

Give me the gift of piety so that I can always serve your majesty with filial love.

Give me the gift of the fear of God so that no fear or earthly motivations can take me away from you.

Amen.
